To the history of studying of genus Spiraea L. (Rosaceae Juss.)

A brief history of taxonomic study of the genus Spiraea L. (Rosaceae Juss.) from the time of C. Linnaeusto the present day is given. In the history of studying the taxonomy of the genus Spiraea, two periods – morphologicaland molecular – can be distinguished. The last period, which began at the end of the XX century, allows us to get deeperinto the questions of evolution and phylogeny of the genus Spiraea.
