
Rare species of Altai flora in the Botanical Garden of UNN

The plant collection of the Botanical Garden of UNN includes 44 rare species of Altai flora, 30 of them areprotected in Altai Krai, 26 – in Altai Republic, including 14 species listed in both Red Books, and 13 species are includedin the Red Book of Nizhny Novgorod Region. The list also includes 7 species that grow in the territory of the BotanicalGarden of UNN in situ. Almost all of these species are listed in the Red Books of Altai Krai and Altai Republic, as rarespecies with wide ranges, growing in specific habitats or located on the border of range, in the Nizhny Novgorod regionthese are not rare native species. Most of species from collection of the Botanical Garden of UNN that listed in the RedBooks of Altai Krai and Altai Republic, are quite sustainable, 15 of them are regularly included in seed lists for exchange.
