This review gives an idea of the content of the All-Russian scientific and practical conference (with international participation) "Literature of Siberia in the sociocultural space", which was held on September 23-24, 2021, in Irkutsk. The conference was dedicated to the 100th birth anniversary of the literary scientist, critic, researcher, and devotee of Siberian literature - Vasily Prokopyevich Trushkin. The conference was attended by the professor students and colleagues from Irkutsk State University, famous philologists from other Siberian universities - Barnaul, Kemerovo, Krasnoyarsk, Tomsk, Ulan-Ude, researchers, and experts in Siberian literature from Moscow, St. Petersburg, China, USA and India.
Topical issues of the history and theory of Siberian literature, its specificity and features of interaction with general sociocultural phenomena were discussed.
The "geography" of the conference participants, the variety of reports topics, lively discussions and polemics testify to the relevance, great research potential of the cardinal direction of science - literary local history, at the origins of which was Professor Vasily Prokopyevich Trushkin.
