A series of new organotin(IV) compounds [Me2SnL], [Et2SnL], [Bu2SnL] and [Ph2SnL], where L =2-hydroxy-N-(1-(4-hydroxy-6-methyl-2-oxo-2H-pyran-3-yl)ethylidene)benzohydrazide has beensynthesized by refluxing methyl salicylate hydrazide hydrate with dehydroacetic acid (DHA) with thecorresponding organotin(IV) chlorides. All the compounds were characterized by elemental analyses,FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, 119Sn NMR and mass spectrometry. The synthesized complexes found tohave wide therapeutic potential.
