We demonstrate for the first time that up to 0.45 microJ pulses can be obtained from a cavity-dumped Ti: sapphire oscillator stably operating in the positive dispersion regime. The output pulse can be compressed to 60 fs and used to generate a white light continuum through self-filamentation in a thin sapphire plate.
