This account of the Rhizophoraceae is a further contribution on the ongoing Flora of Bahia project. Only Rhizophora mangle, a widely distributed species in the mangrove areas, was recognized in the state. Description of the family, genus and species, as well as illustration, distribution map and general comments for the species, are presented.
