A problem situation in life that seems to pass unnoticed is commonly referred to as an ‘elephant in the room’. Occasionally, the problem is so obvious that it is difficult to understand why nothing has been done about it. Perhaps its complexity and magnitude acts as a barrier to understanding its implication and effects.
