The transoral approach to open reduction of mandibular fractures has gained popularity but remains controversial. This report reviews 37 consecutive transoral open reductions of various mandibular fractures performed in 32 patients over a 2‐year period. The fracture site most often addressed transorally was the symphysis and parasymphysis area. A 19% complication rate and an 11% infection rate were observed.
