Electronystagmography (ENG) organized and simplified the disorganized conventional vestibular evaluation. The addition of sinusoidal harmonic acceleration (SHA) to the vestibular evaluation has improved our capability for identifying subtle abnormalities, and even more important its use has enabled us to effectively monitor habituation and compensation (patient progress). This then allows us to monitor patient progress, confirm the patient's history, and in some cases even predict the course of the disease or injury.
