Early syphilis incidence has been increasing in the United States for the past several years. The post‐antibiotic generation of physicians has generally been inadequately trained to recognize the varied manifestations of this disease, yet can expect to encounter it on a more frequent basis in the near future. A literature review of otolaryngologic presentations and the problems of diagnosis and treatment are presented as an aid to the recognition and management of this disease.
