A quantitative assay technique for alkaline phosphatase in pooled fetal ears has been developed. The data obtained by this microchemical assay agrees well with previous histochemical techniques. Starch gel electrophoresis was unable to differentiate different alkaline phosphatases in the extract. These data should prove useful for examination of experimental pathology of the embryonic capsule.
