In dogs, a cervical tracheal sleeve measuring 8‐10 cm. was replaced with autogenous urinary bladder wall. The critical point of stenting was solved by using a silastic tube around which the bladder wall was wrapped with the mucosal surface facing the neck tissues. Four months later, an osseous neotrachea is formed. This tube is rigid enough to sustain the intratracheal pressure changes and is lined with metaplastic epithelium.
