CADERNOS NEGROS – AFRO‑BRAZILIAN VOICES ON THE MARGINS OF LITERATURE
The article presents the literary series Cadernos Negros dedicated to Afro‑Brazilian literature. It sums up briefly its creation and development since 1978 until today, as well as the main themes treated by its authors and its importance in the process of consolidation of negro literature and affirmation of negro identity in Brazil, putting the topic in the ample context of racial relations, marginalization of Afro‑Brazilian cultural production (with emphasis on literature), and the struggle for egalitarian integration of this group in the Brazilian society and culture.
