Skopos as an Instrument for Establishing Translator’s Role The article concentrates on the possibilities of establishing the aim of translation in the framework of the skopos theory, and is an attempt to determine to what extent, and how, the functional approach can help in defining the translator’s role and, in consequence, influence the translation choices he makes.
