Giacomo Puccini’s Opera Translations – Standards in Translation and Polish Theatrical TraditionThe paper will discuss the translations of Giacomo Puccini’s operatic librettos that are present in Polish opera theaters, the Great Theatre – National Opera in Warsaw in particular. Among the examples there are translations in poetic key, those made strictly for singing purposes and philological ones. They illustrate standards in libretto translation that have changed over time.
