On the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan grow larch forests of artificial origin. The area of larch stands in the forest fund of Tatarstan reached five thousand hectares. To assess the prospects for the introduction of larch forests in the region, the work on determining their sustainability began. The sustainability of forests is related to the success of their reforestation. The success of forest restoration depends to a large extent on the indicators of natural regeneration of the forest. The territory of the Republic of Tatarstan in the coniferous-broad-leaved forest zone contains fragments of taiga vegetation. In some areas, successful natural regeneration of larch has been identified here. Young larches, marked by us, allow us to establish the possibility of sustainable development of larch forests under the conditions of the northern part of the Republic of Tatarstan. An example of the location of larch forests in the Far Eastern region allows one to make an assumption about the high fragmentation of larch forests in the southern part of their range and the ability of this forest-forming species to grow in the coniferous-deciduous forest zone. For the European part of Russia, in the Republic of Tatarstan, fragments of taiga vegetation can be represented by stable conditionally native larch forests. It is proposed to take into account the stability of larch forests in the planning of larch cultivation in the Republic of Tatarstan.
