The article presents modified combinatorial algorithm of group data handling method (GDHM), which is used for the purpose of identifying students´ knowledge models (SK). The developed algorithm performs the process of choosing the optimal model using both regular application of external criteria and evalua-tion mechanism independent parameters. One of the main disadvantages of the combinatorial algorithm GMDH is limited number of input parameters. It can be used if the number of independent parameters is not greater than 25.
