The article describes the interests of the state, forest managers, wood processors, environ-mentalists, population in the field of forest relations. Specific structure of economic interests in the modern world is defined by progressive importance of economic interests of the state, which is the basis of national interest. Number of obstacles to effective entrepreneurship in forestry is identified. It was concluded that there was a balance of interests of the state as the owner of forests and private business (for-est users). Growth of arrears payable on pay-ments for forest use is emphasized.
