The paper studies labourconditions at mining enterprises of the Irkutsk region. Occupational risks have been calculated with three methods. According to questionnaire survey personal assessment of risks is 20-30% higher compared to objective assessment based on results of measurements of the industrial environment. Specific occupational risks per thousand tons of rock mass have been calculated; the highest specific risks are typical of professions: driller, miner, loading tractor driver, tip truck driver, bulldozer operator. The allowable length of work for these high-risk professions, calculated by dust load, ranges from 2 to 11 years; life expectancy reduce in health hazard conditions is 30 to 65 days per year. Mining enterprises in Irkutsk Region have been ranked in order of aggregated factors (specific occupational risk, reduced life expectancy according to the maximum length of the dust factor).
