This paper studies the influence of protective forests on the redistribution of cesium-137 in horizontal and vertical directions. Trial plots are laid in accordance with generally accepted research methods in forest biocenosis and recommendations for the management of radiation monitoring. The methodology is a regular landscape profile stratified sampling of soils. Determination of cesium-137 was performed in stationary conditions on gamma-spectrometric complex "Progress". It is shown that the highest specific activity of radionuclide is observed in protective plantations regardless of tree species.
