The questions of the practical value of research in the application of scientific methodology developed by the provisions in the forestry sector, on the basis of managerial decision-making of investment character are considered, which is to evaluate and compare the volume of prospective investments and future cash flows. It is determined that the general logic of analysis using formal criteria in principle is clear – it is necessary to compare the value of required investment with predictable incomes.
