The current lectotype of Lycopus europaeus , Herb. Linnaeus No. 36.1 (LINN), consists of two plant fragments, which represent different species: L. europaeus (as currently applied) and L. exaltatus . The plant on the left, which represents L. europaeus , is designated as a new lectotype because it is the element that is in agreement with the validating diagnosis and the current usage of the name.
