Between 1789 and 1825, Gaetano Savi described eleven Trifolium names, ten of which are not yet typified. In order to fix the application of these names, nomenclatural types are designated here and previous typifications are discussed. For eight names ( T. bocconei, T. elegans, T. michelianum, T. obscurum, T. praetutianum, T. rigidum, T. sebastiani, T. supinum ) we designated a lectotype (two illustrations and six specimens in PI), for T. conicum we located the holotype in PI, and for T. for–mosum and T. vesiculosum a neotype in PI was selected. For the latter name, also an isoneotype was located in P. Furthermore, we selected an epitype for T. elegans in PI (isoepitype in FI).
