The typifications of the Linnaean names Centaurea aspera and C. nudicaulis are discussed. Specimens from the Linnaean Herbarium (LINN) are designated as the neotype (No. 1030.49) and lectotype (No. 1030.72) of the names C. aspera and C. nudicaulis , respectively. Centaurea uniflora was first published by Turra (1765) rendering " C. uniflora L." (1767) a later isonym. Centaurea uniflora is lectotypified using an illustration from Boccone.
