The typification of the name Schizotheca hemprichii Ehrenb. (≡ Thalassia hemprichii (Ehrenb.) Asch.; Hydrocharitaceae) is discussed. Ehrenberg's original material at BM, K, L and P was consulted. A specimen at BM is designated as the lectotype.
