First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Biology Open, helping early-career researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Eriko Seo is first author on ‘ Roles of Keber's valve and foot chamber for foot manipulation in the mussel Nodularia douglasiae ’, published in BiO. Eriko is a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Prof. Shigeaki Kojima at The University of Tokyo, investigating the physiology of living bivalves.
