The third reported case of a malignant nerve sheath tumor of the facial nerve is presented. The clinical course and pathological findings are described and serve as the basis for a discussion concerning malignant nerve sheath tumors arising in the cranial nerves. (Neurosurgery 21: 68-73, 1987)
