A bstract : A study using gene‐deficient mice revealed that IL‐18 is essential for inducing antigen‐specific regulatory T cells and oral tolerance. It is also suggested that IL‐18 is a functional downregulator for immunogenic dendritic cells, contributing to the maintenance of homeostasis for intestinal immunity.
