A bstract : Macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) is a cytokine that has potent antisteroid effects. We determined that MIF is involved in the glucocorticoid‐resistant inflammatory process of ulcerative colitis (UC), and the altered AP‐1 signal is a potent therapeutic target for refractory UC.
