A bstract : Pleomorphic adenoma gene 1 product (PLAG1) a transcription factor with zinc finger domains, is upregulated in several tumors, such as pleomorphic adenomas and lipoblastomas. PLAGL2 is a second member of the same subfamily of zinc finger proteins. Cells overexpressing either of these two genes display the typical markers of neoplastic transformation. We investigated whether PLAG1 and PLAGL2 could prevent cells from undergoing apoptosis, leading them to grow uncontrollably.
