A bstract : Our data show the suppressive effect of hyperglycemia on expression of voltage‐gated Na+ channel β3 subunit by Schwann cells as well as the protection of β3 expression by treatment with IL‐6. Our findings have direct relevance for therapy of diabetic neuropathy.
