Although use of metric measures has been legally permissible in this country for some time, there is renewed interest in the metric system. A study conducted by the National Bureau of Standards resulted in a recommendation to Congress that the United States adopt the metric system for its official measuring system. The policy has been established that the metric system should be used whenever feasible in reporting research in the HOME ECONOMICS RESEARCH JOURNAL.
