The demands of the training and development of a Service officer, and those of doing the same for a civilian executive would seem, on the surface, to be miles apart. The differences are there, of course, but in many areas such as coping with change, career planning, social needs, promotion, adjustment to modern technology, performance evaluation, organisational morale, education in varying disciplines, and in many other considerations, the demands run parallel ‐ as do the techniques and methodology for satistying these demands.
