Observations were made on fifteen telecasts of a word association game to ascertain the use of paralinguistic and kinesic cues by the partner giving the stimulus words. The types of stimulus words were classified into seven categories. Of these seven, the three categories of antonyms, hyphenated words and frequently paired words were accompanied by paralingustic and kinesic cues.
