This text presents the treaties on waka poetics of Middle Ages in Japan, focusing on particles teniha or teniwoha. Historians of Japanese language studies consider that treaties as precursors of morphological and sintatic description documents. Teniha or teniwoha are terms that have been used in poetics and subsequently in studies on language to refer on grammatical morphemes (today known joshi,odôshi, settôgo and setsubigo) and also the inflections of verbs and adjectives.
