Through a selection of erotic images, shunga, designed by ukiyo-e painters it is aimed to analyse the erotic body model built using methonymical references during Edo periodstarting from bride manuals by Hishikawa Moronobupassing to Harunobu's liric child-like and half sexualized representationthen to Utamaro’s elegant, pleasureseaking and ludic representation Hokusai’s dinamism and full fruition Eisen scientificism and finallyto the Utagawa artists Toyokuni KuniyoshiKunisada and Yoshitoshi’s tortuosity decadenceviolence and madness representation of sex.
