The questions of research areas for the protection of patients' rights are considered. It is emphasized that despite the recognition by the Constitution and laws of Ukraine human life and health as the highest social value proper mechanisms for patient's fundamental rights enforcement has not been established in Ukraine. The creation of a special law that would determine the mechanisms of implementation and protection of citizens' rights to health and medical care is proposed.
