We investigated the effect of chronic stress on changes in lipid peroxidation and antioxidant protection in high- and low resistant to hypoxia (HR and LR) rats of different sex. Chronic stress causes the development of oxidative and carbonyl stress in HR and LR animals, most in the LR. At the same time antioxidant protection was increased. More intensive lipid peroxidation was observed in males compared with females.
