Bronchoscopic transbronchial cryobiopsy is increasingly used for the histological assessment of diffuse parenchymal lung disease. Diagnostic performance may be improved by more accurate targeting of biopsy to radiologic abnormalities, and complication rates may be reduced by avoiding biopsy of pleura or larger vessels.
