The Refugee Assessment and Guidance Unit is currently recruiting students for its innovative APEL programme. The course includes the following elements: writing a detailed portfolio covering educational and employment experience; developing relevant communication skills; personal development; equal opportunities; labour market preparation and IT as well as advice and guidance. The programme is 3 days a week for 6 months. Each student has an advisor to support them throughout the course and portfolio writing is supported by one-to-one tutorials. APEL is aimed at refugees and asylum seekers with professional qualifications, complete or incomplete degrees and those with professional work experience. All candidates must have permission to work. If interested please contact Justin on 020 7533 5044. Refugee Assessment and Guidance Unit (RAGU) are based at London Metropolitan University, 236 250 Holloway Road, London N7 6PP.
