The inclusion of antimicrobial resistance on the agendas of the United Nations, G8, G20 and other major organisations reflects the seriousness of the threat it poses. A session at the BVA Congress during the London Vet Show in November provided an opportunity to examine how the UK Government, vets and the livestock industry are all responding to the challenges of reducing use and maintaining the effectiveness of existing antimicrobials.
