In June, the RCVS/BVA Vet Futures project launched a ‘Veterinary Vision’ essay competition in which entrants were asked to write a short essay outlining ‘An idea that will transform the veterinary/veterinary nursing profession by 2030’. Vets, veterinary nurses, students, practice managers and anyone else with a veterinary interest were invited to submit an essay on a topic of their choice ( VR , July 4, 2015, vol 176, p 6). Here, Veterinary Record publishes the winning essay, on ‘The future of wearable healthcare in the veterinary profession’, by Jennifer Rowland, a fourth‐year student at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, Edinburgh
