The Women's Veterinary Leadership Development Initiative (WVLDI) began in the USA and aims ‘to support women in seeking and achieving leadership, policy and decision‐making positions within all areas of professional veterinary activity’. On May 30, the WVLDI chapter at the Royal Veterinary College held its inaugural conference to raise awareness of some of the barriers to women taking up leadership roles and how these might be overcome.
