Translocation is the intentional movement of a species from one location to another, and can be carried out for a number of reasons. A two‐day symposium hosted by the Zoological Society of London last month considered some of the issues surrounding the translocation of wild animals, in particular the paramount importance of health and disease for both the animal being moved and the ecosystem it is being moved to.
