Chronic kidney disease (CKD) causes significant morbidity and mortality in older cats and can be a frustrating condition to treat. While there is some evidence to support the interventions that are available, many questions remain about the efficacy of treatments. Here, Rachel Dean, of the Centre for Evidence‐based Veterinary Medicine (CEVM) at Nottingham veterinary school, explains how she has adapted a method used in human healthcare to help prioritise research questions and applied it to CKD in cats
