The BVA Overseas Group initiated the Trevor Blackburn Award in 2006. The award offers the BVA the opportunity to recognise colleagues whose work has impacted on animal health and welfare, environmental needs and livelihoods in less fortunate parts of the world. The winner of this year's award is Andy Catley, who is currently based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The award recognises the dedication and professionalism he has shown to strengthening veterinary services in developing countries over the past 20 years.
