For some years now the BVA has hosted annual dinners for key opinion formers and decision‐makers in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, to improve contacts and keep them informed of issues of concern to the veterinary profession. These events, held each year in Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast, bring together the movers and shakers in the agrifood sector, animal health and welfare, and research and education, as well as representatives in the devolved assemblies. Until recently, no such event had been held in England, but all that changed last month, as the BVA President, Nicky Paull, explains.
