The culmination of the first European Veterinary Week was a meeting in Hannover, Germany, on November 14, 2008, exploring international trends and perspectives in food animal practice. The meeting coincided with ‘Eurotier’, the world’s largest exhibition covering professional animal husbandry and management. Issues discussed included bluetongue, the EU’s Community Animal Health Strategy and zoonoses.
