How to initiate contact with small livestock keepers and impress upon them their significant role in disease control and prevention was a recurring theme at an open meeting of the England Implementation Group held in London last month. Other matters discussed included the role of supermarkets in promoting animal health and welfare, and progress under defra 's farm health planning initiative.
