The British Cattle Veterinary Association ( BCVA ) hosted a one‐day meeting on bovine tuberculosis in Bristol last month. The BCVA president, Mr Andrew Biggs, opened the meeting by drawing attention to the 18 per cent year‐on‐year increase in herd breakdowns in the UK , stressing that there was a long way to go before it would be possible to say that the disease was under control. As well as catching up on recent developments in the UK , delegates heard a number of speakers describe how other countries were tackling the disease
